We were in the area today and looking to try someplace. La Casa de Pueblo Taqueria had an overwhelming amount of positive reviews so we decided to give it a shot. As soon as we got our food we knew why there were so many positive reviews. The portion sizes for the price was extremely reasonable, especially for the city, and everything was absolutely delicious. We had the chilli rellenos tacos and my partner had the chicken with mole. Both of us were extremely satisfied with our meal and everything came out to 20 bucks with tax and tip tip. We may have just found our new place to hit up in the Pilsen area next time we're down there.

I literally been coming here since I was a kid which is 50 years ago when it was in the supermarket. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant period. It's cafeteria style with the grandmother's recipes. The tamales are amazing the chicken mole Chile rellenos when all said and done you can't go wrong with anything you order.

Buffet style dinner Overall a great experience. The ambiance was super chill. A lot of Diego Rivera paintings that e capture Mexican art. The food was a bit salty for my taste. But it's something more resonant to what I eat at home. I would highly recommend for someone who wants authentic Mexican cuisine without breaking the bank.

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican food experience this is the place to check out. I was craving tacos de carne asada (Mexican steak tacos) no not chain tacos or ground beef with hard shells which are NOT authentic nor what I crave. When my food arrived it was as good as it looked... really great corn tortillas, the correct type of garnishes and hearty pieces of grilled steak. Also, had an order of real tamales to go. Todo delicioso. Place was packed with people coming in and out constantly with pickup and dine in orders. So if you are looking for a little taste of what Pilsen was once upon a time...a place for great Mexican food with a real sampler of various dishes from Mexico that you will not find at other restaurants in the area, you'll have an AUTHENTIC taste of Mexico which is getting harder to find in Pilsen as many long time businesses have left due to inflated real estate prices causing the rapid disappearance of Mexican culture and its original flavors. La Casa del Pueblo Taqueria may just appear like a casual cafetería but its more than that it captures a REAL taste of home cooking Mexican food in a cheerful high energy environment with friendly people from all walks of life. Simply good food and people!

Delicious food. They're tamales are delicious and so is the food. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with anything I've eaten here! One of Chicago's best!!!

First time here and it will not be the last. Menudo was delicious. It has a bit of a different flavor than I am used to, but it does not disappoint by any means. It is a rich and deep flower. Taco Al pastor, meaty and very delicious. Friend had tamales and loved them. They were very meaty, the masa was flavorful as well. The service was great. Very attentive and quick. You order at the counter, and take a seat. The food is brought to your table and you pay when you're done.
